I just got the MLX 990/991 set and my 990 needed a shockmount and this is the only one that I could find that would for sure be big enough for it. It is bigger than other condensor mics and I didnt want to take a chance and get a mount that was too small so I went for this one and it is great. It fits it perfectly and it feels snug and secure even when moving my stand around. Absolutely would recommend it to anyone with a MLX 990 or 770

I have used this shock mount for my condenser microphone when I record for about 4 years now. It is a quality piece of hardware that lasts for a long time. It is easy to install and easy to adjust, and it holds the microphone securely and does it's job. There is only one minor problem: You have to tighten it higher than you want it because when you put the mic in the assembly will fall slightly. But that is a minor complaint for a low-cost shock mount. Recommended for project studios on a budget.

I have a question about this shock mount. First it works great! My voicebooth (which is almost finished) is a converted closet with limited space, hence I have to be very thoughtful about how I configure it. So here's my question(s).
Since the included shock mount holds the mic by simply squeezing it, is it safe to turn it upside down from a micrphone stand (so the micrphone points toward the floor)? If not, could you please recomment a "screw in" shock mount that would work with my VO: 1-A?
